What a LONG day yesterday was. Drove to Berkeley, had sushi in Alameda and walked a little in downtown SF to run some errands (SO mad at myself for forgetting my camera at home!).
The thing that seemed to take the longest was when I headed out to C0ast Guard Is|and to get my military (dependant) ID updated to my new last name. I ended up sitting there for an hour because their machines were broken and they didn't really know how to fix them. Though I suppose I can't complain because there were actually two Marines ahead of me that said they were there for TWO hours. I ended up just leaving; figured i'll get it done at Camp Pend|eton. When J emailed me last night and asked how the ID thing went I wrote back to tell him what happened. He had me laughing so hard when I read his take on it. Usually I just take the military branch rivalries with a grain of salt but I couldn't help cracking up when I read this:
"That's why you need to do this stuff at Pend|eton. If it were a Marine admin shop, we would have gotten you an id, taught you how to use an M-16, balanced your budget and then made one of the PFCs clean your car, all in under 20 minutes. Wham bam thank you, ma'am."
"OORAH" to funny husbands.
