Ricky Boscarino turned his home into a work of art! Amazing. I think i'd be insipred enough for three lifetimes living there. It's located in the woods of New Jersey which got me really excited about the possibility of seeing this masterpiece up close and personal but unfortunately it's not open to the public. The good news, however, is that he has included a virtual tour on his website, Luna Parc.

Back From San Francisco!
I have been a horrid blogger, I know, but I have an excuse: I've been in the Bay Area! I taught for Rusty Pickle at the Pleasanton Scrapbook Expo and was lucky enough to spend a few days afterward with my friends from the area! I thought I'd share a few photos from my trip and give a little shout-out to the *hella* cool people that made it all worthwhile: Mono & Evelina, Thais, Lainie, Erin, my new friend Nicole, Scrapbook Island & Picture Me Perfect. A Simpsons Tribute
As promised, pics from our trip to the Bay Area's very own Kwik-E-Mart. J, my old roommate Mono and I made a trip after I read a news article about the 12 worldwide 7-Eleven locations that have been transformed into Kwik-E-Marts in honor of the movie. That sentence sounds weird but i'm sleep deprived, busy and even more busy so i'm going to let it slide. Hop onto their website to find a location nearest you. Oh and FYI, no, I did not try the pink donuts. They looked really pretty but as Mono said, "They look radioactive." I'm going to have to agree with him on this one, folks. Enjoy!

Highlights from our trip to SF
1. LOVED every second in SF. Even the ones where I got tired and therefore cranky. Getting lost was the best part- a lot of the time we did this on purpose. :) I have LOADS of cool pictures and yet.. we still didn't get to see/do everything we wanted. Enjoyed spending time with old friends, the nightlife, walking through the streets and browsing through all the shops. Found this AWESOME "jewelry" store in the Haight that apparently has quite a few locations elsewhere. GORGEOUS, funky, FUN jewelry at inexpensive prices. Love that! Need to unpack to find their card and post a link to that later.
2. We got to see a real Kwik-E-Mart from the Simpsons! (more on this later.. got loads of pics!)
3. J wants to move there so bad.. he talked all weekend about getting his MBA at Berkeley. hehe
4. Seeing the Golden Gate Bridge makes me want to cry- every time. Even after having lived there. Even after all this time. It's just that powerful for me. Growing up in Hawaii, on what is essentially a rock, just some small-town girl, that is BIG for me. Huge. I hope that is something that will never go away.
5. J forgot his textbook for school back at home and remembered he had homework due so he had to download the info to the laptop before we left SF and did his assignments on the ride down.
This means that i drove all the way to Frisco and back. Seven hours each way. This should make up for the last two weeks I was MIA as his wife for the Race. Right?
6. Realized that I miss San Francisco a ton more than i thought. That is one AWESOME city. Full of art and culture.. i'm fairly certain that what i originally believed to be fog cloaking the city, is in fact, a giant cloud of inspiration. Everyone should go there at least once in their lifetime.

Back from the Bay
Our little excursion to San Jose was a blast. Who knew driving 6 hours straight could be so much fun? The main reason for the trip was so that I could help my good friend Thais {pronounced Thai like the food + EESE as in geese :)} organize her craft room and create a scrapping space. I'm so sorry to have to rat you out, girl but OH LORD I did NOT realize the woman had that much stuff. I'm partially (ok, mostly) speaking out of jealousy when i say this, but she had more things than I knew what to do with. For the first time ever, in my history of organizing, i felt overwhelmed. I said i love a challenge and boy did she give me one. The funny thing is, i still had so much fun. Even when it was midnight and we were still sorting, i had fun. We even made a trip to Ikea where I convinced her to buy an Expedit bookcase to help organize her supplies (Needless to say I bought one too. In my defense, it was cheaper to buy it there than in San Diego/Orange County).
While I was there I even had the chance to sneak in a dinner with some old friends, Stephanie and Erin. Hopefully next time we'll get to actually crop! ;) I was only there for 2 days so we weren't able to finish but I have plans to head back up in about two weeks to finish up and get started on my friend Lainie's room as well. Does anyone else here notice a trend of over-estimation? :)
I'm going to hold off on posting pics of the room right now until the project is completed, but I promise some photos in the near future! For now, you'll just have to settle for pics from our drive.
